Our Commitment
Jackson County Job & Family Services is committed to ensuring that the Community Care Portal is accessible to all residents, including people with disabilities. Accessibility Features
The Community Care Portal includes the following accessibility features:
Perceivable
- All images and icons include descriptive alternative text

- The portal is fully functional when text is resized up to 200%
Operable
- All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard navigation
- Focus indicators are clearly visible on all focusable elements
- No content uses timing that would prevent users from completing tasks
- Page titles and headings are descriptive and organized hierarchically
- Skip navigation is supported through semantic HTML structure
Understandable
- The page language is identified as English
- Form fields include clear labels and instructions
- Error messages are descriptive and identify the field in error
- Navigation is consistent across all pages
- Content is written in plain language appropriate for a general audience
Robust
- Pages use valid, semantic HTML5
- ARIA attributes are used where appropriate to enhance screen reader compatibility
- The portal is compatible with current versions of major browsers and screen readers
- Form controls use proper roles and states (e.g., toggle switches include aria-checked attributes)

The Community Care Portal is designed to be compatible with:
- JAWS and NVDA screen readers
- VoiceOver (macOS and iOS)
- TalkBack (Android)
- Browser zoom and text-only zoom up to 200%
