When you submit a request through the Community Care Portal, we collect:

  • A description of the assistance you are seeking
  • The category of assistance needed
  • Your zip code (optional)

When you offer to help through the Community Board, we collect your name, email, phone number (optional), and a brief message describing how you can help.

How We Use Your Information

Your personal information is used to:

  • Connect you with appropriate local resources and services
  • Enable JCJFS facilitators to review and manage assistance requests
  • Communicate with you regarding the status of your request
  • Match volunteer help offers with community requests
  • Improve our services and community outreach

Information Sharing

Your contact information is only accessible to authorized JCJFS staff members. It is never displayed on the public Community Board. If your request is published to the Community Board (with your permission), only the category and description of your request are shown — never your name, email, phone, or other identifying information.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information with partner organizations only as necessary to fulfill your assistance request, and only with your knowledge.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Data is transmitted using industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL) and stored in secure, access-controlled databases.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including to satisfy legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. Resolved requests are retained for up to two years for record-keeping purposes and may be anonymized thereafter.
